A TRADITION IN QUALITY SINCE 1903
In 1891 a seventeen-year-old German immigrant by the name of Frank Joseph Heidler came to America with the dream of a better life. After spending 12 years working in various lumberyards, he started Heidler Hardwood Lumber Company in 1903.
As Chicago’s furniture industry grew, so did Heidler Hardwood. Heidler Hardwood enjoys a rich history of lumber supply to the furniture and architectural millwork trades in the Chicagoland area.
Now in its third location and under the ownership of its fourth generation, Heidler Hardwood operates out of a three-acre site only a few miles from Chicago’s lakefront. As the generations have changed at Heidler Hardwood, so has the company. Heidler Hardwood started as a sawmill producing only walnut lumber and now manufactures high-end custom mouldings out of over 40 species of lumber. Over the generations, Heidler Hardwood always supplied the finest grade lumber, from the best hardwood producing areas, on an accurate measure. This philosophy has aided Heidler Hardwood in achieving the industry’s best reputation as a specialty hardwood supplier. Our inventory includes many hard to find items that are distributed nation wide via common carrier.
As Heidler Hardwood enters the 21st century, we continue to strive to supply our customers with the highest quality hardwood available in the industry.
